NSW hidden roads part 2 - Federal.

Hidden Roads part 2 - Mullumbimby to Federal.

This post is a long overdue update to some of the roads I have often talked about in northern NSW.

From Mullumbimby there are 3 good choices to get to the town of Federal.

First time here perhaps best to go straight ahead straight at golf course on and up over a small range on a newly sealed road that is quite twisty and fun. At the top of the range you need to turn right into (Googengerry Rd) and follow this road past the Crystal Castle as it winds its way up around many 90 degree bends with the forest canopy making the road completely in the shade for a number of miles until you arrive at the edge of the mountain ridge again and climb further up before dropping down towards the township of Federal. You will come across a crossroads, go straight and the road then narrows as it winds a few more corners into Federal.

The alternate route is turn left at the golf course, follow this road for some way as if rises and falls over a few ridges with some sharp turns then right into Possum Shoot Rd, a twisty narrow steep run up the hill to a vantage point popular for parasailing. Turn right at the top and
continue and you will shortly come an intersection signposted to Coorabell, turn left to take this road for the shorter but no less fun route to Federal or continue right and you will cone to the same intersection mentioned above (Googengerry Rd) where now simply vear left and go straight on as you actually allready are on the Googengerry road. Now continue as above.

Part one - see Mullumbimby.
Part 3 Federal to Eltham.
