NSW hidden roads part 3 - Federal to Eltham.
(This post continues my updating of information on this area.)
Minyon Falls might be worth a look after heavy rain but was just dry and dusty on this day
I have posted about this road a number of times - its a another fun back road in this area with great scenery and it has been all sealed for some time now. There are two choices to cut across from this road to Clunes first via Rosebank to Eureka or travel a little further south and travel via Corndale. Both roads are a bit tricky in a couple of sections so take care.
Clunes
The other route on offer from Federal is simply via Eureka and onto the Bangalow rd to Clunes. If you rode over via Goonengerry then makes sense to continue on this route - but really you can go any which way - thats the fun part of riding here - endless possibilities.
Road to Eltham
The Clunes cafe is ok for something to eat and good for a coffee- the food used to be much better and it seems a victim of its own success or not having any competition. Now I ride on to Eltham pub. Continue past Clunes and take the left to Eltham for a nice short ride down the hill.
Eltham Pub lunch
There are more good road options on to Alstonville and Tintenbar but here is about as far South as I go comfortably in a day.
